Essie Summer 2013 Collection

 Recently I went up into Norwich city (my hometown) with my dad to get some last minute holiday goodies before friday. I took this opportunity to grab the trio of this years Essie Summer Collection, and boy was I pleased. A normal Essie polish retails for £7.99 and this trio was £12.99. I originally only wanted 'Sunday Funday' (the middle colour in the trio), but I found the trio and fell in love with 'Naughty Nautical' (the left colour) and decided to buy the trio as it was cheaper. Although the polish bottles are smaller (5ml) than an average Essie polish (13.5 ml), I still thought you'd get a good amount of product inside it. The pack comes with 3 of the 6 polishes from the Summer Collection: Naughty Nautical, a deep turquoise, Sunday Funday, a pinky peach, and Full Steam Ahead, a pastel lavender. All 3 polishes have small particles of shimmer in them, this isn't noticeable in the picture above, but here are some swatches...

The shimmer still isn't really that visible in the swatches but it is there, I promise! I haven't seen a colour that resembles that of 'Naughty Nautical' and it is very unique in my huuuge collection. Although, 'Full Steam Ahead' is very similar to Topshops 'Parma Violet' (which I own), and 'Sunday Funday' is a shimmer version of Essie's own 'Peach Daiquiri' (I also have that too...starting to worry about my obsession...). As always, these polishes have a great formulation which all Essie products have. They are 2 coats opaque and don't take ages to dry! I am in love with Sunday Funday as it looks great with a tan! I am currently sporting 'Naughty Nautical' on my nails and it hasn't chipped yet and looks fab! Will hopefully be buying the full size bottles of my favourites and maybe some others in the collection, as long as they're still on sale when I get back from holiday!!

Red Floral Blouse

Absolutely in love with my new blouse from primark! It is a sort of jersey material, it's not a sheer cottony material. I first found this as I was looking for a dress that LLYMLRS featured in a recent video (video is here) with the matching pattern of this blouse. Sadly, I din't find the dress but I found this gorgeous blouse instead! It is loosely sleeved to the elbow and had a collar which can be joined up fully. I LOVE this shirt so so so much and looks great with a black skater skirt (the one I am wearing is from topshop) and chunky boots. It's such a great deal for £12!

I'm going to Clothes Show LIVE 2013!

I am so happy guys! My parents have bought me tickets to go to the Clothes Show in Birmingham NEC for my 16th birthday! To make it even more special, the show is 11 days before my birthday so its as if it's come early! I am going down to Birmingham on the 7th of December to watch the 3:00 viewing of the world famous, 45 minute long fashion spectacular! The face of this years show is former winner of Britain and Irelands Next Top Model, the beautiful Jayde Thompson (pictured above). My mum bought me a platinum ticket which entitles me to fast track entrance to the show, a platinum seat for the main show (sitting in BB, see seating below), an official show guide and a bag filled with goodies.

I am so so grateful for my parents buying me this for my birthday and am so excited for this day as I feel it will inspire me for my future. As I want to be involved in the fashion industry when I'm older, I think that attending this event will help me kick-start my future and get my foot in the door for how the industry works. This is also a great opportunity to purchase some great new products, as I am starting a new job in a salon as of September, I will have more money to buy some more higher end products and pieces of clothing. I am by no means trying to brag by writing this post, I am just so excited and think that blogging about this experience will get some new footage on this blog which will interest more people.

Salt Texturising Spray Comparison

So any of you who are up to date in the newest trends will know that salt sprays are the only texturising tool you need this summer. Forget the days of spending hours trying to tame and straighten your unruly hair, just bang one of these in your hair and you're good to go! I've heard the rave about the Toni & Guy salt spray which is a bit splurgy at the price of £7.19 for a hair product (in my opinion). So I decided to go out on the hunt for a great texturising spray which is more on budget. I picked up these 2 products at different times as one of them didnt satisfy me completely. These 2 products are the 'Schwarzkopf got2b beach matt texturizing salt spray' and 'L'oreal studio matt and messy spray'.

Firstly, I walked upon the Schwarzkopf product as it was on offer for £3.50 (RRP £4.49). As the spray was in quite a large bottle (200ml) I thought I was getting my moneys worth. The product promises 'mermaid look hair in seconds', sadly, it didn't live up to its expectations. The spray itself is more of a liquid gloop rather than a spray consistency, the actual product doesn't dissolve into your hair leaving it sticky. This isn't the only disappointing factor to this concoction. The smell of the spray isn't too distinctive which I personally don't like. There are small particles of salt in the spray which cling to your clothes and hair while applying it. Unfortunately, the product doesn't offer a clean application. I found that the spray is quite difficult to aim into my hair as it flies out at random angles, this causes a lot of mess across my desk and wardrobe (more cleaning, ugh). Overall, this product doesn't give defined waves, but gives a lot of hassle and cleaning to the owner. Not a good buy for the price.

Fortunately, today I found the L'oreal Studio spray and picked it up for a nifty £1.96 (RRP £3.65, good ol' Superdrug and it's offers). Though the bottle is smaller (150ml), it is more compact and easy to use. I find that the spherical shape of the bottle fits into my palm perfectly enabling me a more accurate application. The consistency of the spray is very thin and airy, which is what us girls look for in a good styling product, it dries very quickly in your hair not leaving it sticky and heavy. I think that the smell of the product is very pleasant and sweet, it smells quite like a perfume! Honestly, I don't think I could rave about this product enough!! I've only had it about 6 hours and I love it to pieces already! It is soooo much better than the Schwarzkopf product by  long shot, it is cheaper and has a much better consistency and smell. Also, the L'oreal product offers a more promising concept, and achieves it fantastically. I found that the Studio spray gives more beachy waves and still leaves your hair quite straight giving it more of a tousled effect.

So, if you're going to go looking for a texturising spray, definitely avoid the Schwarzkopf Matt Spray. I would seriously reccommend the L'oreal Studio spray, and maybe to try the Fudge Salt Spray as I've heard only good things about it (even if it is a bit more pricey at £8.50). I hope this post has given you more of a clear idea of which products to plomp for if you're looking for a new hair styling product for this summer. Have a good summer guys!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo

After seeing all the hype about this product on blogs and on youtube, I figured that I would go out and splurge on this product. I was going to buy the MUA Undressed palete, but decided to follow along with the hype on this product as it seemed well worth while. And I agree!! This product is basically an eye shadow base, it has a creamy formula and doesn't rely on a lot of blending into the eye with vigorous movements. The colour of this cream is a bronzed brown with subtle shimmer running through it. It is very natural against my skin tone and I find it very wearable on a day to day basis. I've seen many people using this as a base with other eye shadows packed on top of it, but I find that it's suitable to wear on its own making no statement. I think that it is one of those products that you can use a little of to create the 'I'm not wearing any makeup' look. It is very natural and blend-able onto the skin. As the skin around your eye is very delicate, I think this product caters for these areas as it doesn't need to be pulled across the eye with a brush- it can easily be blended with the tip of your finger. This product comes in a wide variety of colours to create endless amounts of looks, and for a cheap price of £5 you can't go wrong. Will be repurchasing other colours in the collection.

So here it is, the first week of the summer holidays. I thought I'd just post a quick outfit of the day to keep you guys updated. Last time I checked, I had 195 pageviews on here! That's mental!! Considering that I haven't promoted my blog on any sites, I think I've got quite a lot of feedback. So thankyou to anyone who is reading this.
