Rimmel Apocalips - Celestial

Rimmel Apocalips lip lacquer in the shade Celestial - £5.99
Depending on when I decide to post this, you may or may not have already seen my post on the Sleek Matte Me lip cream in which I demonstrated my new love for lip products...and this is how this product magically fell into my basket. There is such a wide colour selection in this line and I bought this one as I thought it was the most natural that wouldn't wash me out. On the lips, it is a berry pink colour that is opaque in one swipe. The doe-foot applicator has a well in the middle of it that collects the product on it, this ensures that you have a clean application with just the right amount of product on your lips so it doesn't look gloopy. The lacquer stays on your lips for ages yet it sweeps off easily if you rub your lips with your hand or something like that. Overall, I think this is a great product as it is opaque and glossy in one coat, yet it has a tendency to easily slip away as it is such a thick formula.

Beverly Hills Jumper

Jumper - Primark, £12
I really don't understand all of the hate against Primark? I seriously think that some of Primarks clothes could be found in Topshop and no one would complain. Anyway! My mum kindly brought this home for me after my shift at work yesterday as she preferred this one to a similar one I have already (shopper problems). I currently own this same jumper in a pastel yellow shade that reads 'California' across the chest- I prefer the yellow one and my mum prefers this one! These are the comfiest jumpers to slouch around in and go so well with jeans or black leggings. Everyone in England needs a jumper right now as we aren't the luckiest with the weather!

What do you think?

My Makeup Storage

Hello! Excuse the open Mac lipstick and the M&M's! This weekend, I have been in a desperate 'I need to sort out my storage' mission and I have finally found the perfect solution! Compared to how cluttered my desk and drawer were prior to my clean out, I have done a fantastic job if I do say so myself! I have my everyday makeup stored in my black makeup bag from Primark, I keep all of my makeup brushes (Real Techniques and Bundle Monster) in a clean Jam jar. I've separated all of my cosmetic extras (such as my hairspray and deodorants) on the left side of my mirror, and my skin products (such as Peaches and Clean and Garnier toner) on the right side. On the left you can see a set of drawers which I have very artistically (see the sarcasm?) painted with flowers- this stores my nail art brushes/tools, samples and nail files. On top of that is a small tray that I keep cotton rounds, cosmetic mirrors and more nail files in. Now onto my middle drawer...

Before my clean out, this drawer was the most cluttered part of my room as I would just throw anything in there as an attempt of 'cleaning my room'. After tidying my desk, I ventured into the city with my dad to get drawer dividers and stumbled across these small boxes in Clas Olsen. In each pack I got 3 of the larger boxes and 3 smaller boxes- I got 2 of these packs and an extra 4 smaller boxes; these were on offer for 3 for 2 and all together came to £9. I got inspiration for this form of storage from VelvetGh0st (you can see here makeup storage video here) and I think it's so easy to organise and see each product clearly. I have divided my products into categories so I can organise them easily without getting confused on where everything is! For example, I have all of my mascaras together, my lip balms, and palettes. I would definitely recommend this type of storage to any makeup hoarder as it makes it look like I have less makeup- therefore I have an excuse to buy more!!!!

How do you store your makeup?

Mac Lipstick - Pure Zen

Mac Lipstick in the shade Pure Zen - £15
Finally! I have purchased my first Mac lipstick and I am so so pleased with my first choice! Last week, I went into my local Mac store in Norwich with my mum to find a lipstick to wear to my Prom in June. We both decided on Peach Blossom (a sheer pinky nude) which we then found out was out of stock. The lady at the counter recommended  we tried Hue- this also was out of stock...not having the best of luck. So I unfortunately walked out empty handed. However, I managed to find myself in the store again today and after alot of swatching I found this colour, Pure Zen. I was in a toss up between this colour and Patisserie (a browny nude), which were luckily both in stock. Helpfully, the lady at the counter swatched the colours on me and said that Pure Zen suited me the most, so here we are!

Pure Zen is a Cream sheen formula lipstick which means that it is a creamy, glossy balm that glides onto the lips with ease. One top tip, make sure that you have applied a lip balm before applying Mac lipsticks as it makes flaky lips look horrendous (as I found out). On me, the shade is a muted peach colour which looks more pink in the image above. In natural light I think that the lipstick will look more pink as it does in the bullet, yet in artificial lights it looks more peachy and old lady-ish. I have paired this lipstick with a clear MUA lipgloss as I think it adds more dimension to my lips and doesn't make them look so frosty. All in all, I am extremely happy with my first Mac purchase and long let it continue! In all honesty, I think I could have chosen a better fitting colour personally but I don't think it's bad for a first timer!

Please let me know your favourite Mac lipstick below, I'd love to hear about it!

Sleek Matte Me - Petal

Sleek Matte Me lip cream in the shade Petal

Suddenly I have had a recent obsession with Sleek due to their amazing face form palette which I use daily. I have decided to branch out into the brand's other lesser-known products and stumbled across their lip creams. I haven't seen too much rave about these in the blogosphere so I thought I'd give it a go, and I love it. Since the formulation of this cream is matte, it can be a bit drying on the lips. I've found that if you apply lip balm just before you apply this cream, it makes your lips very sticky and uncomfortable to wear. This particular shade is quite natural on my skin tone yet it looks more pinky in person. I would describe the colour as a barbie yellow toned pink.

The doe-foot applicator is quite dry due to the formulation of the product and feels like a marker pen when you slide it across your lips. However, the staying power of these creams is amazing! I would describe this cream as more of a stain due to how long it clings to your lips yet this has consequences. It is awful to remove with a makeup wipe and leaves an unattractive pink ring on the edges of your lips on the morning after. Nevertheless, the first few hours of wearing this product is an absolute dream and makes me feel confident knowing that I have something on my lips that isn't noticeable to my touch. I am aware that there are 'Gloss me' versions of this cream that I haven't yet discovered as I would prefer to use a glossy lipstick than a lip gloss- that's just my preference though.

Have you tried this product?

Apologies!

Hello strangers, I am so so sorry that I haven't posted in absolutely ages (slapped wrists).  The blogger website has crashed on my laptop thus meaning that I cannot post.  However,  I have just received a tablet on which I can now write posts! Only problem is that it is a tedious process transferring my images from my camera,  to my laptop,  to my tablet to then post here.  But we'll see how it goes! This afternoon I am hopefully going into Mac to buy my first lipstick so I'll try to keep you posted on that!

Hope you've all had a good start to the year and don't hate me too much for my lack of consistency!

Cut-Out Denim Shirt

H&M in sale £7
Can't possibly comment on my chins or the appalling state of my skin but hi! I picked up this shirt on my recent trip to H&M in the sale for £7. I think this shirt looks great layered under a jumper with the collar poking out of the top, also dressed down with a simple pair of black leggings.

Sleek i-Divine in Oh so Special

Sleek i-Divine in Oh so Special £7.99

Top- Bow, Organza, Ribbon, Gift Basket, Glitz, Celebrate
Bottom- Pamper, Gateau, The Mail, Boxed, Wrapped Up, Noir

I absolutelye love this palette from sleek and I use it everyday. I use Organza all over my lid to add shimmer,  Boxed to fill in my eyebrows and Bow as a highlight in the inner corners of my eyes.  I haven't used all of the shades yet but they are all very pigmented from my swatches,  especially the shimmer shades.  After using this durable palette, I would like to add more to my collection.  I'm definitely a fan!

Hope you had a good New Years x
